Simon is having a hard day. He wakes up to a bad dream, the fire alarm goes off at school, some big bullies bother him, and that’s not all! His anxiety is so bad he’s about to call his mom to pick him up from a sleepover at Kevin’s house. Just then, Kevin’s big sister Angie steps in and helps Simon by teaching him some skills for dealing with his worry that will last for years.

Nicole Kluemper is a child psychologist and Navy veteran who lives in San Diego, California. She works at a community clinic near the University of San Diego, where she earned her undergraduate degree. Nicole earned her graduate degree from Alliant International University, San Diego. Nicole has been married for 16 years to her husband, Gary. They enjoy camping and spending time with their Rottweiler, Simon.
Nicole was inspired to write Simon the Scared Rottweiler because she needed a tool for working with younger kids with anxiety in her practice. Her dog, Simon, who really does deal with some anxiety issues of his own, was chosen for this reason. Nicole decided to publish this book in an effort to help a wider audience of children who might be struggling with worry (and their parents).
